So why is it they throw a fit when I take my car for an Mot and it has an air freshener hanging from the mirror?

Got into a taxi this morning and the drivers view isn't much better then mine.

That’s because they are “official “ items (like your tax disc used to be). But it doesn’t make them invisible does it?
I suppose a swinging air freshener could be more of a distraction rather than a “static” item. Personally I never saw any of these when testing cars.
