viscouse fan nut

Hi what sze spanner do i need to remove the viscose fan on my 2.8 1998 and is the nut a right or left hand thread ?

An inch and a quarter spanner fits what ever that is in MM (32 ?). b******* if I can remember if it's left or right hand thread though. I think it's left.

Its is 32mm, and its clockwise to undo it.
And one of the locking bars is really useful. (Fits over the pulley bolts to hold it still)

I did mine with a hammer and punch as I didn't have a locking bar

Various viscous fan removal sets on amazon for circa £15. On my to do list as well, if my parcel arrives from Germany...

I have always found that if you put the spanner on the nut, a firm tap with a hammer from right to left looking backwards and the fan will spin off.

bought the proper tool for the job as tried getting it off with all manner of spanners and ways of holding it...

so much easier
