My first thought was when did they decide that strapping yourself in the car was a safer idea. That thought was quickly replaced as I realised it wouldn't make any difference the way the cars fall apart. x_x

It was the chap who wore his way through his overalls down to his underpants that made me smile though...

Hi Ragtop, thanks for showing those, they never fail to amaze! Makes you realise how safe motor racing is nowadays, as those clips

where from the Golden Era of Motor Racing when your life really did depend on your ability to actually drive the car. Amazing enough,

if any of those cars came up for auction today, they would probably be worth a small fortune, far beyond the reach of the likes of you

and I.

We watched racing cars like those, going round the Silverstone Circuit at Zedfest on Sunday Morning with a grandstand view from an

Open Top Bus in glorious sunshine, what more could you want. It took me back to the days of my youth, when my Father used to take

me Classic car racing at Snetterton! What days they were! B-)

Bloody hell, some of those chaps did not walk away from a few of those........ :-o
Did like to see the Mercs and the D types.
The one that made me laugh was the bloke front on into the wall, who got one up the backside, and then looked back at the other driver as if to say ''What the ....'',, :))

Those drivers back then had to be brave to put there lives on the line like that, not only the drivers but the some of the spectators were at risk too.

See you're still remniscing about Silverstone Mike, yes it was a very special weekend. I have got a T-shirt, mug, and a cap with pictures printed on them from that weekend, how sad is that. :D

On page 42/43 you will find a great photo, full of Zeds. I can pick out Snoops, with you behind, and us behind you.

That looked awful HT. I'm surprised that the seat belt/harness didn't hold the driver in the car, maybe just as well though, as those cars didn't seem to have roll hoop protection.
