I can only say that I missed the 2 minutes silence commemorating 70 years since the end of WW2 in Europe only because I was in the U.S. I watched the re-run of the service at the Cenotaph in London, this evening on the BBC and observed it then. The memories of those brave Men and Women who sacrificed their lives for us should be passed down to the children in our schools, where ever they come, from for safe keeping, to stop anything like that happening again. Bless them all.

Tony.

I was only thinking yesterday that 70 years is an incredibly long time ago now, but full respect to those who still make the effort to remember.

There was an interesting interview with a surviving soldier who missed VE day because "I was still fighting the Japs". Over it may have been in Europe, but still going on elsewhere.

I was just watching some of the coverage last evening and telling Trinity that those weren't piles of logs as she's asked but dead Jewish people the Nazis has machine gunned. She watched in horror as they shaved the prisoners in Polands gas camps and sent them into the chambers and crematoriums. She's 10 but it's important for her to know what happened and what is still happening with ISL. When will it stop? JIM
