Valve cover gasket - Is this right?

Replacing my valve cover gasket (3.0 M54) ..the old one was flush to the cover ..it also cracked into a million pieces when I removed it

Put the new one in (Elring) and it stands slightly proud of the cover..is that right? It fits so assume it’s the right one. Thanks

It has to sit proud, so that when you tighten the fixings there is slight pressure on the gasket.
