The past few weeks I have been using my Z3 for work. I bought it as a second regular use car (summer only) and fun car.
Missus is not a fan and prefers the idea of an SLK. The Z3 and Z4 IMHO is better. I have some BMW Series 1 or 2 wheels (somebody suggested replica wheels?) which look great IMO but upset the drive a bit I think. Tramlines terribly. 255's/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 front. I think as they are getting on a bit I will change them. The rears on higher spec models are 245, I reckon that might be better.

I also had an airbag light on. It was an advisory on the MOT when I bought it. The warning light did not come on at startup and I asked the owner to correct it. When it arrived it was on permanently. I bought a tool to reset it and an under seat bypass. I only got around to checking it at the weekend. I thought I have nothing to lose after a reset so I tried. Looks good.

Leaks a little on the front driver's side. I suspected and was told by the previous owner the front door seal probably needs replacing.

Only a 1.9 140bhp but I love it. Great condition and great car. I really need to convince my Fiancee how good they are :D

The car looks good. I too had to convince the better half at first, however after completing 450 over the Easter weekend she absolutely loves it

I'm not certain what exactly she does not like. I think it's how it looks.

Lovely colour. ;) :p
I can see why you agree :p

I have a collection of red. Three cars all red. Two were on purpose but myZ3, well I just got lucky.

SLK 's are a bit more lardy, really need the supercharger,. Even then, they're not that quick and the handling isn't as precise unless you replace all the bushes. The interiors wear badly, the wheels corrode really badly. The headlight always need polished, or replaced, and the front wings rust.
Apart from that they're ok.

I use mine some days for work after checking the weather is going to be good on the way home. It's a bit of a pain getting the zed out of the garage at 3.30 in the morning so generally I'll use the daily that's parked on the road out the front.
Oooh and Mrs Grumps loves the Zed, she should, she picked it!

I used my daily on ~Thursday & Friday but this morning as the weather has picked up again I took my Z3. I do (well did last week) have a small cap cover I put on which I need to remove and also remember to bring the appropriate set of car keys down with me.

Regarding the SLK, most are Auto and whilst I don't normally care much either way (at least for the commute as my daily is a DCT) the manual in my Z3 is superb and I would miss it. The pedals allow me to side & side (as oppose to heel & toe) easily. I have never owned a BMW before (my daughter has owned two Mazdas and two BMW's and swears by the BMW's) but there is something in the "Ultimate Driving Machine" thing :D of that I'm sure.
