There are a couple of these switches showing on ebay.com at the moment. My head unit has a usb socket and aux on the front, so no good for me ;)

That was a very interesting, well presented article you linked Ash! Just wish I understood it completely. I don't smoke so have that socket taking up space. I have a simple plug in type charger but it shakes itself loose on the rough roads I have to drive on. So will need to sort something out once spring rolls in. JIM

Hello Guys,

I have been looking at adding two charging USB sockets to a switch blanking plate. With a cut out made by my dremel and a few tweaks. I have just purchased this little beauty from eBay. Its a two port charger with 12v to 5v

I am thinking of mounting it in the rear switch cluster along with an extended USB socket from my new head unit so I can play either my phone or a USB stick with some music on it all tucked away at the back of the centre console. I will keep people updated if they feel it would be an interesting subject.
