Cheers Andy, only just seen this mate. What sizes and prices please? PM if you'd like. First things I need are new boots for the 108s and then before next winter time some winter tyres on the turbine style wheels.

Tony.

I run winter tyres from about November to April last 6 or 7 years kept me going in some pretty horrendous conditions last few years and this winter for definite.
My biggest problem with winter tyres is all the people who dont
As they are the ones who get you stuck .
I have ran falkens definitely done the job have tried various brands from the high end like goodyear to a cheap set ( weren't so good ) got a set of Riken snowtime b2 on this year certainly had the winter weather to test been good so far and wearing well.
Soft compounds means wear rate greater than summer tyres but needed to alloy tyre to work in winter condition.
One of the best i would have to admit were a set of Nokians i ran ( Finish company originally specialising in winter tyre for Scandinavian countries).
The only othe gripe about winters might be that below 4mm their snow grip capability is greatly reduced as the extra sipes cut into each block are only cut to 4 mm after that the block will look solid like a summer tyre
@Andy McDonnell if you look round the edge of the sidewall there should be the tread wear marker point ( for max wear ) around the sidewall but majority will have a 2nd tiny snowflake on the edge round the tyre and if you look correspondingly in the tread there will be another wear marker set at 4mm to indicate change required for maximum winter grip.
