I need new tyres for my Z3 I have the staggered wheels 254-40R17 and 225-45 R17. At the moment I have Falken FK 452 paid £340 for theses in 2008.

I'm afraid it's personal choice, you will get loads of different replys.

But I will let you know my choice:

Vredestein sessanta ultracs.

Excellent all round tyres.

:)Loads of conflicting recommendations heading your way Ron. Best thing is check out your local tyre houses, that's where you're going to buy them after all, compare and choose. Then tell all of us how good they are. Have fun mate.
Cheers, Tony.:)

Hi Ron,

Was great catching up at South Gloucs at the weekend :). When they stopped making the FK452's I switched to Maxxis MA-Z1 which are a similar directional tread pattern. Been pretty good over the last 4-5k miles. Similar ride quality and grip to the Falkens too.

Absolutely agree with that Gaz, unfortunately we can't get them any more at work. I should have bought two lots and stached some for a rainy day.:(

Agree Gaz, I've done just short of 10K on my Maxxis - not had any problems, good grip in the wet and dry and quiet (on decent roads).

My ride to work used to be, mainly, a dream Dave very quiet until about 4 weeks ago and the Lincs C.C. Highways Dept. fouled most of my drive into Lincoln with the dreaded " Top Dressing" shower of grit.. Now the Maxxis just gather the grit to throw at the underside of my car whenever it feels like it. To top it all the main part that they di, really didn't appear to need doing and this was the smoothest part of the A57. T........s. :(

Ha Tony, yes Staffs CC decided to use up some of the budget round here as well, so we have our fair share of 'Top Dressed' roads. Of course everybody sticks to the 10MPH speed limit.........not. So not only do you pepper your own car but somebody else does as well when they decide to overtake you because you are doing 10MPH:bashhead:

Too right Dave, I had been warned the previous day when one of the outside(lorry) tyre fitters reported a "fog" on the A15 at Caenby Corner only to discover that it was a wagon towing a dust storm .
Then the sneaky sods decided to do between here and Lincoln during the night and once committed I had no choice but to continue through to town. I did cheat the next 3 days be detouring around it until after they had at least swept the crap up and the rain had washed the dust away. I hate this type of road surface, but I suppose it's cheap.:yuck:
