The tyres I currently have on are Dunlop Sport 2000E Size 225/50ZR16 92W. I am asking advice as I believe that the choice will affect the handling of the car .
Thank you
Tyres and pressures can have a big affect on tramlining. I put Avon's on mine and it reduced it dramatically.

I've got Continental Contisport on mine absolutely love them. My A3 has Dunlop sport BluResponse which are my current favourite tyre. I know there is a video on Youtube of a guy with these on a Z3 which he seems to love. I'll see if I can find it.

I have a 2.2 Sport and run a staggered set up with Hankook Ventus Prime 3s. Very pleased with them, no tramlining and excellent handling.

Pilot Sport 4 are great. I believe there are a few companies offering £50 off if you purchase x4.

EDIT: blackcircles.com has £40 off. Use code 4mich40 during checkout.

If you are having handling issues (tramlining), it would also be wise to check the state of the lollipop bushes, ball joints, strut top mounts, shocks, springs, ARB bushes & drop links, followed by an alignment check.

Agree with this tires might mask the problem a bit but for me what cured it is a full front end refresh of bushes track rod ends etc,

Michelin Pilot Sport 4, after trying different options on various Zeds these offer (IMO) the best wet/dry grip without breaking the bank.

Z4 owner recommended Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Goodyear Eagle 5?Any good?
I have the Goodyear Eagle 5 on my Z3 (225/45/17 and 245/40/17) and
think they're a superb tyre. Great grip in all conditions, very predictable handling and comfortable. Well priced too.
