Why would it be over £140 cheaper for me to fit a set of 35 profile tyres to the rear of my E89 rather than the standard 30 - doesn't seem to make sense but maybe I'm missing something?

You can see that one of them says "can fit tomorrow". That means they have them on the shelf ready to go. Likely a popular size used by many.

The other one is not on the shelf. They need to order it in. Not a common size. Not as many people use it. Economy of scale or whatever it's called.

The point you are missing is that lower-profile tyres are more expensive, always been the way.

You need to match it with 40 profile front otherwise the DSC will have bad hair days..done something similar with 235/40 19 and 275/35 19 on one of my sets of wheels

I think that's Garrie's point, everyone knows the lower profiles are more expensive. But why ? The higher profile tyres contain more rubber.

Less is more I suppose, paying for the additional engineering (how hard can it be) ?

"How hard can it be?" — are we supposed to take that answer seriously? :banghead:

They are also different load values, 91 = 615kg per tyre. 96 = 710kg per, tyre both at at max PSI

I think generally for Zeds they are comfortably inside all limits?

I'm sure they are. The reference was the price difference, they are different rated tyres.
