Only got a 750mm one at the moment if that’s what you need, some minor damage at central base and in need of a clean!

Ian, do you have this type of wind deflector ?
Yes, it's a very early type (supplied with my April 1997 build Z3). The key lock was removed subsequently, likely to reduce cost of manufacturer. Below as fitted.

nice, much better than the later efforts i think, i am trying to source our and i have found the wind deflector on market place and the fittings on ebay, the fittings that go into the turret aren't complete, do you have a picture of how yours are actually made up ?

probably too much faffing to take them out ?

cheers

The fittings are as shown in your picture, The key turns the barrel of the lock to release. The bracket that it fits in to seems to have expanding tags (if that makes sense) and there is an Allen bolt in the centre hole of the bracket. Have never removed the brackets, but would think the bolt draws up a washer or like to secure. Hope this helps. :)

Is this still available? How does it fit? Is it suitable for a 2000 model year Z3 with the roll-over hoops?

Edit: Please ignore. Done further research (on this forum!) and realise it doesn't fit the later cars.

Managed to find a nearly complete ! set of type 1 wind deflector brackets, albeit had to get a part made at my local racing parts fabricator as they only came with one plastic nut. Great job by them and would recommend Jamie @ DRD Racing Products for any of your racing parts.
