Type 1 Wind Deflector fitting help please

Hi,please anyone have experience fitting of a type 1 wind deflector , everything looks ok but what happens after taking off the blanking cap from the turret ,how does the foam packing come out and what does the mounting bracket screw into ,in advance thank you

You will have to either cut out the foam or remove it.
It looks to me as if a piece is missing that pulls up and tightens in to the insert so they tighten up.

See picture 1 the threaded bolt part of your deflector should have a bit on it so when you tighten in place it spreads the fingers open . ( it fits into the roll bar mounting ).
As @Antm72 has said 2 choices either remove the turret and remove the foam insulator or cut it in place through the top that should reveal the mountings

The car was totaled so just striped it before I sold it to a bloke who has stuck a V8 in it and rebuilt it.
Did not take any notice of how things were mounted when I took them off but if you look at @joepig's photos you can see the bottom three or four threads screwed into something in the turrets.
Mine was Oct 96 and Joe's is a 97, both with out role hoops so it should fit.
