Just bought a 2003 Z4 2.5 and wondered what little 'tweaks' I can do to enhance the performance slightly. Maybe a re-map, hi-flow air filter etc etc? Not had BMW before so I am a complete noob when it comes to the available mods.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Got a '96 1.9 myself. There are several members with your model that will advise you soon. Good luck with your new car. Frankie

The air boxes on the Z4 are generally regarded as optimal, compared to what we are used to on the Z3. Changing it on the Z4 will be wasted money, and you would be best looking towards a less restrictive exhaust and a decent remap.

That's the problem with modern cars, more and more electronic control, costs are then huge for very little gain, hence why I say get the next engine up, then do suspension and exhaust job done really. But the 2.5 engine is really good so just enjoy, maybe change the shocks and add H&R ARB's

Cheers, seems there isn't much to be done with it!
Stick some fuel in it and treat it to some miles on the road. The 6 cyl engines are really drivable, so you may be surprised.
