When I turn the key in the trunk it operates the door locks and it sounds like the trunk lock is operating but it remains latched. Is there any other method to open the trunk other than drilling? If not can someone share the drilling method with me? Hate to do anymore damage than is necessary.
Thanks.

Try pressing down on it when you push the button, rock it up and down, failing that you will have to remove the badge and drill a hole, the catch is inside that you need to rock to one side, take a look on you tube

Hello, My son's trunk will not open on his 2001 Z3. I have seen other posts about this problem and they said they will PM you with procedures to open the trunk manually. I have seen the videos on how to open it by drilling through the trunk behind the badge. Is that the only option or is there another, not so public, method?

Thanks!
