Traction Control, ABS and Brake fuild lights are going on and off. Everytime I go to get the z3 onto Diagnostics the lights go off again.

BMW dealership says its not an ABS ring as the lights would be on all the time. I've taped up the wires going to the ABS sensor from the car. It was ok today until I was coming home tonight and under firm braking the lights came on again.

Checked brake fluid levels and their at max and the z3 has had a brake fluid change this summer.

Can anyone shed any light?

So is that the lights go off when you plug the reader in, or because the reader is resetting the codes? What diag reader is being used, and which OBD socket - the one under the steering wheel or the round one in the engine bay?

Whenever I start the car up again and start to drive the lights go out so I haven't been able to get it onto diagnostics.

Silly question, but have you checked the fluid level and the pad wear wires to eliminate them?

Tony.

It might be worth checking them, also I would check your battery voltage too, strange things can happen when the voltage gets low.
If I think of anything else tomorrow I'll get back to this thread.

I'll get the battery checked tomorrow. I have heard of strange things going on before.

Front right abs sensor was a fault. Just taped up the wiring from the car to the plug. If it comes on again I'll replace it.

Lights have came on again and I think it might be the tracking. I remember someone having the problem with an e36 3er. My track rods are ceased so new track rods.

I've had the new steering arms and track rods fitted and the tracking done and lights haven't been on in 10 days.
