Ever wanted to drive your car on the track but too apprehensive? On the June 3rd BMWCC are running a better driving day at Cadwell Park, this day is aimed at giving people a taste of track driving without the worry and stress of turning up to an official Track day to try it out.

You will be assigned a guide/mentor for the day and as I understand it you will be put into one of three groups, each group will take turns on the track, 20 mins each per hour during the morning and in the afternoon there will be free running.

You do not need a modified car in any way, no special brakes, tyres etc. etc. you car does not even need to be a BMW, as long as it is road worthy you can take it along.

It would be great to get a group of zeds there, I would happily come along to give morale support if we can muster up a few folks.

Any questions please ask, If I cannot answer directly I'll find out the answer for you.

The cost of this day is £200.00, this may seem quite steep but you will be getting great quality track time in a friendly atmosphere with fewer cars than normal.

To book this day please contact Nick Wright an either nick@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk, tell him I sent you along (not that that will get you any favours :) )

Brian, might be interested in this day out. Couple of questions…
Do you have to be a member of BMWCC?
Do you need any special safety gear?

Hi Dave,

I have asked the questions and await a response. I believe it is open to everyone, only the only safety gear you may need is a helmet, these are available to hire. I will confirm this for you Dave as soon as I know myself.

Cheers

Brian

Yep, just had it confirmed, open to all and sundry, no need to have BMWCCGB membership, helmets are available to hire on the day.

A lad I used to work with took his Yamaha R1 to Cadwell a few years ago and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He went again a while later and remembered that he was better than he actually was. He came off his bike and only slightly injured himself ( he wasn't much use at work for a while) did some moderate damage to his bike and sold it soon after.

I fancy it BUT - a couple of days before Brain posted I'd booked flights (non-refundable :grumpy: ) to Ireland otherwise I would have gone to Cadwell.

Is this an annual event or a one off? Sounds great!

Thats a real shame Bill, Maybe next year?

This was run for the first time last year, if this year gets a good response then I think it will be.

Excellent! It'll be one to look out for. My other half is convinced a track day is exactly what I need. He does them on the bike. He'd be well up for this though. We've already got plans for this year or we'd have come down. Was it on roughly the same time last year?
