I'm interested in repopulating the Z3 tool kit, which is missing the tow hook--I'm gonna guess this could be fairly important on occasion.

Has anyone had experience with the less expensive ($12 or so) tow hooks available on, say, Amazon? Some online parts dealers have these running ten times as much, and I'm concerned there's a reason, like structural integrity, that makes one worth more than the other.

I'd look for an original BMW part from a junkyard breaker. You'll probably find that a towing eye from any 3 series BMW would fit

I am sure one of our resident breakers will be along shortly.

Sorry only just noticed the USofA currency, but still be better with a genuine one.

Ended up ordering oem used from ebay for $20 incl postage. Not as shiny or inexpensive as some options, but I know it will work. Thanks to all for the sensible advice.
