Total indicators loss

Looking for suggestions in case I have missed anything.

This morning when I went to my 98 Z3. 2.8 and unlocked it, no indicators flashed.
When I went to drive off and I used my indicator stalk..nothing. Tried left and right side and no lights on dash or any indicator lights on the car would work. The main beam function, flash and OBC functions all work.

I pulled over and checked, all other lights on the car work.
I checked every fuse and all are ok.
I even disconnected and reconnected the indicator stalk assembly from the steering column.
Checked all indicator bulbs around the car and all ok.
The only thing I haven't been able to check/confirm is the relay in the fuse box. I have a spare on order to rule that out.

Apart from waiting for the relay to arrive, does anyone have any other suggestions on what to check or has anyone experienced the same issue?

Sounds as though the flasher unit has packed up?

It was the relay. I managed to find one over the Christmas break.
