Hi all, could anyone give me an indication as to the torque settings on my Z4? It has 12mm front and 20mm rear spacers so I assume this will alter the nm slightly? I'm thinking 80-90nm?

I use 100Nm for all wheel bolts, and wheel bolts into spacers.

I have 5mm on the front with longer bolts (35mm) and 25mm bolt-on spacers on the rear.

Rear spacers are held on using the BMW wheel bolts and the wheels are held onto the spacers using 29mm bolts.

If you are using a through hole spacer, the bolt length should increase by at least the thickness of the spacer.

120Nm +/- 10Nm Don't put copper slip or any grease on them, as this can screw up the torque settings and stretch the threads.

Without spacers 110 nm. With spacers, I do 130nm with wheels on floor, chocked, not with handbrake on. As Niall says, clean, dry bolts.

Fitting spacers should not change the torque setting required so if it was say 120nm it still will be .

Bearing mind there are now 4 mating surfaces in stead of only 2, I just think it prudent to increase the torque. I agree it shouldn't need it but never had a problem. However I have seen loose bolts where spacers were fitted. That could've been "operator error" though.

I've gone in the middle of the replies at 120nm. Not one budged 1mm so they were obviously to at least that setting. With all the wheels being off for refurb I thought it prudent to check them after 50 miles.
