Top gear z3 review

The Alfa really hasn't aged well. The engines were crap and not the proper Alfa twin cam. The MGF is just landfill.

When I used my now-sold S plate 1.9 for a couple of days I remembered how good they are. Not always exciting but just a really well thought out product.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that Alfa was a double bagger then and is now 🤮

The GTV looked OK but the Spider was always a bit....meh.

THE sports car back then was the M100 Lotus Elan but they'd finished production and sold out by 1996.

I never liked the look of the alfa or the mgf. I had a mk1 mx5 when this was made and it was a fantastic car. I loved the retro looks and front engine rear wheel drive layout. Exactly what I love about my z3

I keep seeing predictions that prices are going to go up but I think they have gone down in the four years I've had mine. I was even tempted to buy a second z3 the other day 😂

I got my pristine 01 3.0i with 4500 miles (yes, only 2 zeros) for $7000 in 2017. I bought from my mom, but that was book value at the time. It wasn't long after that that my son saw a Z3M with less than 20K miles for $12k. I was tempted to buy a second one at the time....wish I would have.
