Today's fix

The wife's Z was fairly mint when she bought it but it has 3 noticeable niggles that need attention. I have been putting off fixing them but decided that today was the day to replace the broken seat belt guide on the drivers seat. What a royal pain in the a""e. The seat weighs about 2 tons when you are lifting it out on your own, the gubbins in the back is held together by bits of bent wire and the spring washers that hold the guide in place did not want to play ball. Much cursing later the new guide was secure and the seat went back together a doddle but I am much happier furkling with the oily bits.
Next job will be removing the passenger side door card to glue down a wayward piece of trim that sits behind the quarter-light, then the rear bumper will have to come off to re-align it as the panel gap is not very even down the one side, hopefully just due to a bent bracket. I am in no hurry as they are both minor niggles but I will have them sorted before September when we go to Italy for a weekend with the Italian Z3 owners club.

Me and the father in law replaced a seat belt guide on his zed and yes what a pain it is .
We'll worth doing though as it could be an mot failure ?.

In hindsight it was a ball ache but not actually difficult, just not my cup of tea. I would not want to put anybody off from taking the job on, in fact if anybody needs a hand I would be happy to lend a hand and tools provided they come to my place.
