Should I do it? As a preventative measure?
Stats:
1.9 M44 140K miles
No rattles or noises from the Timing Chain case
No issues with driving

What say you? Should I be changing it, so I know its done? Or am I being paranoid?

If I did change it, should replacing the chain alone suffice? (assuming the guides and the tensioner are in good shape).

Thank you in advance.

And if you do decide it would need to be a full chain kit with chain tensioner guides etc
As its not only the chain itself that's done 140k also guides and everything else so in my eyes
If service records good and all quiet leave alone chains on z3 gen engines are all pretty good.
But if you do go for it its the works or you're wasting time and money.
Stephen.
