Time to look at replacing disks and pads front and rear on my Z3 3.0...Plenty for sale on Ebay but I don't want to end up doing the job twice due to poor quality...People are saying the likes of Brembo and Ferodo and Mintex are not the same as years ago and are just badge names bought up years ago and probably from china? I don't mind paying a bit more but what are peoples experiences of what they have fitted and any recommendations for quality stuff?

To save all that scrolling:

........Or you might want to look at this excel spread sheet that I composed from member's comments following my quest to try and get some harmonisation of the various maker's parts on offer.
That said and done, VERY disappointed in EICHER front brake pads so took them off, found they were faulty and replaced with Pagid which have been fine ( Eicher and Pagid bought from Euro car parts). At the time there was surprisingly a shortage of choices.

Thanks for that.. GSF have good deals on Brembo disks at the moment.. Certainly used to be a very good brand years ago.. Anybody any experience of Brembo disks on their Z3 recently?

Bermbo brand still one of the best. Pagid are “mid range” while Eicher are cheap s*** that the trade bung on to sales cars, these are usually very noisy and wear quickly.

Replaced my rears with Brembo disks and pads during the summer. Quality was good and they are always on offer somewhere (ECP, autodoc etc)

I have used EBC redstuff pads for years and very pleased with them. I have EBC front discs and Brembo rears, both are good.

Mike I agree Ebc make good quality products for a wide range of applications.
My Orinoco has Ebc bluestuff pads fitted to front can't make up my mind if I want to keep them in as bluestuff is a track day pad and they definitely lack a bit of bite when cold .
Great when heated sharp great fade resistance your pads will be far better suited to road use .

Used eicher on my e91 quite cheap but seem good

Personally wouldn't touch anything that EBC produce. My experience with their products is wholeheartedly negative and met lots of others who have reached the same opinion.

My own go-to are either Febi that have a very good finish - or BMW if you can stretch to it. Their ValueLine stuff isn't that expensive.

I have fitted grooved Black Diamond to 2 zeds so far and they are very good, but not cheap
