My Z3 2.2 Tilt Sensor is corroded and causing issues with the alarm system. £200 for a new one. Anyone know where to source a 2nd hand one? Also, handbook advises it can be isolated, to travel on ferries etc, by pressing remote key lock button twice. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and will t work if corroded? I'd much rather have other contact points alarmed than nothing at all. Also any idea where the main alarm control box is located. Its a 2001 model so don't think it's behind the glove box as it was on earlier models. All thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tilt Sensor is Part number is 65.75-8 380 746.9

By memory the easy fix is to just unplug it and makes sure that the connectors in the plug are not shorted with crud.

There are a couple of UK members here that part out Z3's. @spurs fan in a coupe is one, can't remember the other. Do a search in the for sale section to see who is posting.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I will try both suggestions. Have found the Electrical Trouble Shooting Manual on this forum now too, which will hopefully be of use (at least to my auto electrician!! :)

No worries mate. Hope you are all well.

Tony.
Yep. Been concentrating on the DIY and refurbishment jobs around my parent's house to cheer my Mum up after my Dad passed away last year. But with the better weather I'll be back properly on the Z3s soon-ish. Plenty of work on the Z3s to do when I get there.
