I've just spent a nice day on the Z3, taking off the door cards, greasing the window mechs, and spraying the tweeter covers that always seem to discolour.

The drivers card had been off before and badly reinstalled, so I repaired the fixings, now everything is back good clean with my range of Autoglym products, and everything looks great! Car back in the warm now, me as well.

Nice work - door cards can be a nightmare to remove and put back on - the maintenance you’ve done behind them should hold good for some time.:)

I have to agree, just fitted new door cards to my z3. I had 5 attempts at the drivers side before I could get it to fit. I found that even after a liberal application of silicon spray I still could not move the card forwards or backwards in the channel to get it to aline correctly, which meant I had to completely remove it and start again.
Not the easiest of jobs I've done on a z3.

I had to have the door card on/off/on 3 times before I learnt exactly where window trim needed to sit to get all alligned correctly, so it snappedinto place. 2nd side perfect first hit!

Interior looks very nice now. If you're removing trim panels it's best to use these type of pliers to pop the buttons out rather than the "lever" type which, however careful you are will stretch the trims slightly.

These pliers push the trims apart rather than levering them apart. These also work for pushing pipes off unions ie. fuel filter pipes on a Z3.

Tony.
