Hi there

I'm a 50 year old man so not a teenager BUT I like the M style rear lights on BMWs and have fitted them to E36's before... and I stole picture from a for sale ad (apologies for that) but it showed me similar style rear lights for a Z3.

Do i guess the general consensus of someone fitting them to a non-M car is wrong? I like the style, I'm curious what the community thinks, but ultimately I'd go my own way.

I'm sure this has been asked before and I apologise for not trawling the forum to find answers.

Cheers,
Rich

You can get clear lens rear light units Rich, which I like. As you say it's your car and you do it as you like. I am just the same with my E89. As I was was with my E85 Z4 and my 2000 Z3 too.

Tony.

Its your car , do what you want with it , who cares what anyone else thinks ? Its not like your modding out a Duesenberg or old Bentley . Im 56 and I looking to change things on my Z4 all the time . Go for it .

Thanks Ohio, I wasn’t looking for a cheerleading squad and I will do what I want, was more just curious what the Z community thought as I’ve only owned the car a week.

The M ones do look good. I've got some smoked ones on mine, although they were on it when I bought it so I don't know if they were originally clear ones that were tinted by a previous owner.

I’ve looked at the smoked ones as well and I think with the silver of my car the plain clear and red will suit better. Am just waiting for the seller to answer my question then I’ll get myself a treat to fit this weekend!!

I think youll find the Z community , at least on here , to be very understanding when it comes to what people do with their cars . Ive seen some things on here that arent my taste but to each his own . I personally am looking forward to seeing what you come up with .
