Hi Everyone,

Hopefully you will all tell me i have nothing to worry about...
My ZED is a 97 2.8 without roll bars, I've purchased a BMW OEM wind deflector from eBay without doing any research (silly boy (or something stronger) i hear you say)...

Having a look on the net tonight i see the wind deflector fits into two mounting brackets fitted behind the seat storage thingy...

So the big question is are these mounting brackets fitted as standard or do i have to source some of these...

Thanks

POG,,

Ps. I will be checking myself tomorrow in the daylight...

Your car is the same as mine although mine was registered in 1998. Mine didn't have roll hoops either but it came with a BMW wind deflector and on mine the brackets are there underneath the plastics.
I have now fitted roll hoops to mine

First of all THANK YOU for the advice... From what I can see I have purchased a type 2 wind deflector and the posts are 75 mm apart...

I've looked on my ZED and the are no holes in the sticky up cowling thingy the seatbelt pops out of (all technical speak here) so I'm assuming in need the brackets and new cowling with the holes in...

What has occurred to me is the are two type 2 wind deflectors 70mm & 75mm so the hole on the cowling must be in different places (2.5mm difference between types).

So could someone with a type 2, 75mm have a quick measure up and tell me where the hole is on the cowling is I would be very grateful.

Well I was up early and having a little drive along Southsea sea front and I suddenly thought I can quite easily derive the position of the holes... So that will be a little job for later today.
