Hi all

As a preventative measure I’ve just had the top of my Mora replaced by Paul at The SoftTopShop in Stockport. Cost was £720 with relief pockets.

It was one of his easier jobs, as the mechanism and the original top were in very good condition. However, I could see that there was some separation from the gasket in the bottom corner and the original rear screen was going to need doing at some point.

I’m delighted with the work, the fit and the finish. Paul is a really nice guy, very keen and knowledgable on cars. He does come to you, if you can’t get to his workshop.

Recommended.

Is it a zipped or stitched rear window?
It is stitched / bonded.

My understanding is that you’d need to buy a BMW top in order to keep the zipped window. At least, I’ve not seen an option to keep the zipped window on a non-BMW top.

The top will last many years, so I don’t expect to replace the window. Personally I don’t like the zipped window, with the inherent risk of leakage through the zip at some point.

Paul did my Z3 roof first class job, looks like his prices have risen though.

Don't want to sound negative but isn't there a chap in Wales doing same roof for about half that figure?

I believe there is, but this place is local to me and he uses top notch materials. There can be big differences in the quality of materials used and consequently the fit and longevity. That is not supposed to be a reflection on the work of the guy in Swansea.

Yes there is but this guy did my Titan M and he came to me in Gloucestershire to do the Imola at my convenience so worth it not having to drive to Swansea and waiting ages for a slot.
