... this morning and the sky was blue. Pretty much the first time this year, so it would have been rude not to get the Zed out for a drive. So a quick fill up with some 99 octane and off I went. Usual playground, mostly dry roads just a couple of floods to negotiate and very little traffic considering it was a Saturday.
Stopped for a coffee & cake in Longnor before heading home. [The Cobbles has closed down so tried The Moorland Cafe].
75 glorious miles, but she needs to have a deep clean now.

Top job mate. Managed a 50 mile round trip in Bella today as a post service check. Popped in to see a mate that has a Talbot Lotus Sunbeam and a rally replica mid rebuild.

Back to rain from tomorrow 😌

Mine is insured, taxed and MOT'd but I spent the sunny day kicking a bucket round the garden in anger because I couldn't go for a drive. Dashboard on work bench stops play. Bah!

Anyway. Your comment about Lotus Sunbeam sounds familiar. A few years ago a guy told me about his Lotus Sunbeam. We were talking about the old Avenger Tiger when he let slip that he had "another" lotus sunbeam "in boxes" that his missus didn't know about 🤷‍♂️

I feel your plight about the yellow ball ( usually us )

But in January and parts of February the current Uk weather patterns haven't been too bad to us
Looked at met office stats for jan in South Ayrshire
Sunshine totals at 110% over 30 yr average for Jan and temp average and rainfall totals were below average so for once wont grumble about our winter weather so far chilly but not horrendous.
Stephen.

Hey @andyglym Your Lotus Sunbeam guy isn't Gav by any chance? Used to be engineer at TVR? Same neck of the woods as you.

No mate though he was a rally co-driver in a works sponsored car 1 step down from WRC. This lad is a Nuclear Engineer.

That's disapointing. Like @Stevo7682 I was looking forward to the 'small world' thing.

The Gav I know was chief engineer at TVR but now works for a bus builder. He has a Cerbera, a Lancia Integrale and a Tuscan Challenge race car.

His wife found out about the Lotus Sunbeam in boxes - and I haven't heard from him for a while 🤷‍♂️

Familiar Dave, Weaver Hill, lay-by near Onecote??
First dry day and I needed to have a look around the oil burner as it's mot time in a few weeks. So jacked up and actually nothing looking bad, but two new rear tyres needed!

Yep, actually on the grass next to it as there was a motorhome in the bay. Looked like it had been there some time.
