Had a beautiful moment this evening, needed to fill the Z up so headed to the M11 roundabout and the Shell garage. On the way up noticed there was a speed trap (mobile safety camera for the less cynical) on the opposite side of the dual carriage way.

As I have to go round said bout, I would be heading back into the camera so caution required. Filled up and informed the chap next to me about the mobile safety device. He thanked me I got in my car and drove off.

It's 40 MPH on that section of road so I stuck to that knowing what was ahead, unfortunately the four chaps in the VW behind me did not know. Taking umbrage that with the top down I was only doing 40, so windows down preceded to yell what a C$%T I was.

So with plenty of single digit waving they flew past me straight into the mobile safety camera(trap). I was crying with laughter they must have gone through at around 60MPH plus. At one point I was laughing so much I could hardly see the road, it was beautiful.

The thing is, if I hadn't of seen them on the way up I may well have been caught on the way back. They were tucked in a lay-by almost behind a hedge but hey-ho at least the spotty yoof in the VW had his evening ruined.

Reminds me of a New Year's Eve many years ago. I was driving my friends, all girls, home from a party. They were all merry but I'd had no alcohol. I was keeping to the speed limit but behind me was a car full of equally merry lads who weren't impressed at my slow driving. The driver was far too close and kept flashing his lights while his mates shouted with the windows down. When we got to a set of traffic lights, which were on red, he pulled up alongside and sat revving his engine. The moment the amber appeared he roared off, cutting in front of me and weaving all over the two lanes. Unfortunately for him he hadn't noticed at the traffic lights that a police car had pulled up behind him. He got pulled over while I drove sedately past still observing the speed limit. =))

Yeah I have been thinking of getting a dash cam for a while now, just too many mods so little time.

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago on a trip to the local B&Q. Spotted a copper on the central reservation of dual carriageway on the way and thought to myself "don't come back this way Ian" but I forgot when leaving the store however coming down said dual carriageway there was dick behind me who I could see was chomping at the bit so I deliberately slowed down around the next roundabout so when I exited the roundabout he floors it past right into the arms of the the copper who promptly stepped out in the road and invited him to park up in the layby opposite. I was having giggle fits all the way home =))

I doubt they will be calling anyone the C word or waving thier middle finger again anytime soon :p
 
In my Merc 230CE (Dutch Plates) racing an XJS up a steep hill in the UK, the Jag backed off and I thought, got yah, then 'Flash'.
But I don't care, they never send the tickets over here....:D
Oh, and they cant put points on my licence either.
 
Going to my apt with my girlfriend one night a car revs the engine for a race. I was in the yellow VW and receding like I was going. Light changed and other car flys off tires smoking. I idled away and watched as he fish tailed away right into a lamp post. Went a few blocks and turned around just as a cop car pulled up at the accident! Hope no one got hurt!! JIM
