Does anyone else experience a small lake beneath the fuel filler cap when washing the car? Doesn’t seem to be any sort of drain hole.

I’ve re-purposed a fuzzy pink sponge thing just for this job. Works a treat.

Ours was very caked up to extent we could find it , but was easy to feed a length of Strimmer Cord up the drain tube from the bottom. Now make habit of checking when washing the car.

If you ever take it out to clean, make sure you unclip the bottom end of the drain tube from the fuel tank.
I didn’t, and I ended up breaking it off where it joins the fuel cap gaiter.
Luckily I managed to fix it with gorilla glue.
