And yes, supplied and fitted.
Wow that is good value,i'v used the link you gave to email them to ask when they can fit me in. Thats interesting about how using products on the roof can damage it. We never stop learning eh. Wish i knew this before i spent £30 on cleaning and proofing stuff . Thanks again for the help and info.

The cleaning and re-proofing will be fine, he was talking about the products that are basically a dye that you paint onto the roof. I have the Auto Glymn Cabrini care pack which he said wouldn't do any damage. I can't remember the name of the product, think it was Renovo or something similar that is to be avoided.

Used Auto Glym on mine and came up a treat and beads very well. Watch it on your paint and glass though as it's difficult to get off. Cover up well.

Thank you for that,Has the rear window fairer ok since you had it fitted ?
The window is still clear now bit of a mark where the roof touches it when folded but will polish out.
As said on here many times the roof is naturally waterproof just needs to be kept clean. As it gets wet the fibres swell and stop water and then there are the other layers which keep any water out.

Polish for window is greygate plastic polish which is also used in the aircraft industry.

I mentioned in another thread that I'm going to get some thin fleece and sew a couple of magnets in and use it as a cover when I fold the roof down. It should protect the screen well. Total cost I estimate under £5.

Watch out when the wind blows and where you put the magnets as the rear edge of the roof is the bit that rubs on the screen and that seems to be where the video shows the magnets fitting. Fleece was £1.50 off the market

I have been saying that from day one on here and even got sworn at, fools and their money and all that.
If I said I did my soft top with horse p*** and it worked a treat on a forum, I bet people would try it.

Respray time! First pics, had a small ding just to the rear of the ariel, transpired it had been filled with tin foil and painted over.
Going to be welded over, like it should have been first time round!

Why are people so lazy and cheap?? That kind of thing pi$$ ;$ me off!! My 97 1.9 has no rear antenna and when I checked it out looks like someone just kept spraying until the hole closed over. Amazingly it hasn't cracked at all and I hate the little t shopped thing they stuck up top on the windshield!! JIM

My sprayer seems to think she's in good nick as does my local BMW dealer so let's hope there's no lurking dramas. Fingers crossed mate.

I hope so Andy, filler and paint can hide a multitude of sins. Had a friend who once stuck 4lt plastic bottles in the sill of a van and used filler and paint to cover it. Looked great on the outside. Good part was it was a drag race van so wasn't on the road. Was still holding when he scrapped it though. JIM
