How did you come by yours, here is my story. March 2013
My previous car was starting to rust, it was 22 years old and still on its original cam belt (i was dicing with a catastrophic engine failure) coupled with the rusting sills it was time to say a sad farewell to an incredibly reliable car. I had been searching for a replacement for a few weeks (looking at the nissan 350z - 370z) there were a few about but included in the search results would always be the z3 and z4, at first i didn't pay them any attention but then a saw a Montreal blue 2.8 for £2900 (a lot cheaper than the nissans) so i went along to take a half harted look, dont know why but i didn't commit, sometimes there is just something not right, you cant put your finger on it but its there. So back to the search, then i spotted another blue z not that far from me but it was a 1.9, i got thinking about this logically and thought - hey i could save some cash on the purchase and save money on fuel, the nissan would need a pump permanently attached to the rear just to keep it going. There was nothing else at the moment and i had always wanted a convertible ever since i was a kid, so i rang for a viewing. It was very early spring (still a bit chilly) the winter had been really cold and miserable, there had also been two deaths in the family (one kind of expected for a couple of months, cancer, and the other a complete bolt from the blue and should not have happened). I arrived and looked around the car, nothing niggling me this time, then i made a fatal error - i took it out for a drive with the roof down. the early spring sun broke through a cloud and i was sold (i was thinking about the two who were no longer with us) i turned the car around and drove back with a grin like a Cheshire cat, i pumped the sellers hand, gave a bundle of cash and drove it home. wouldn't swap it for anything else now except maybe a brand new one, but they don't make them anymore.
this car is irreplaceable as it was purchased from money i had from one of the family members who had died.
