How did we do before phones. First one I had was a work one which we passed around depending who was on call. Mobile it wasn't but at least we could go out away from the house phone.

Now we have one each + work phone so guess what I did this morning.

Yup picked up work phone and the bosses phone so kept getting messages all day from strange people including those from the boss wondering when her phone was coming back.

I'm not sure i would want to go back to not having a mobile. As it allows me to keep upto date with Zroadster.org and my other friends.

Remember my first car phone, big box in the boot and a hand set next to my hand break and one hell of an aerial on the roof.

I could manage without, though I doubt I ever will now, but if they all stopped working tomorrow life would be great. I went into our front office at work this morning and turned the corner to see all 5 office staff with their faces in their key pads. :(

Mobiles (use of) at work at our place is not allowed. What really pizzes me off is going down the pub with mates and they sit down and stick their faces into their screens, I normally fart and walk out.....

Shirl's mum and Dad had one like this for their heavy recovery business back in the day too. People used to say all I needs is a red box to stand in. Also the reception was crap as when on holiday the invariably had to get to higher ground to get a signal. I can't remember the make ........

In my day we had phone boxes. Of course we didn't worry if nobody phoned us. Still wish I didn't have a mobile at times.

We have some equipment areas where mobiles are not allowed - broadcasting the buzzing mobiles create to 11m people is frowned upon!
A neighbour used his phone to photograph the fishes in a local fishing pool one day. Still waiting for the images to come on fishbook. The phone hasn't been seen since it was dunked =))

Yes you see mobiles every where you look :p
But their is a time and place for them :)
I don't answer mine whilst I'm in a check out queue or being served in a shop :)
I think it's rude :)
But the amount of people that do that....... you would be surprised :)
I luv my phone , I'd be lost with out it :)

They are useful but have been responsible for creating a society of very rude people that can't carry on a simple conversation. Also interpreting a message posted is left up to the recipient to decide the tone and has led to many problems with people going completely off track from the original intent of the post! It happens right here on this forum too often as far as I'm concerned!! JIM
