Not the best of starts. Gonna be interesting to see how the new format works following "old Top Gear".

why cant they just face it, its dead in the water. it has zero chance of any decent ratings, Its a bit like going to an Elvis concert with out the Elvis, whats the point.
To be fair though, it had peaked a couple of years ago and was only going to go down anyway.

I will give it a fair shout as I do like car shows but I am sceptical to be honest. Chris Evans is perfect on paper but in reality I'm not so sure. Will see eh!

i have just thought of a better way of looking at this, its like Gordon brown trying to fill Blairs shoes, or Major fitting in Thatchers boots (had to say boots or it would just encourage comments about major in stilettos)

Cant stand Chris Evans, or his self-selected bunch of hanger-on's laughing at everything he says like they are his best mates.. Hero worshipping his 'talent' which they obviously measure in his £££'s.

Well top gear was not always in the last format, it evolved so maybe this is just the next evolution, I did like Clarkson at one time, but he just got too above him self, but I have never met the chap, he may be different in person.

gooka & taff, you beat me to it. What on earth made Chris Evans a 'star',beats me, but he's made a fortune.There's no justice in this world.
Agree with some of the other comments, it was past it's sell by date.John Cleese was right when he pulled the plug on Fawlty Towers.You produce something good , but quit before it goes downhill.
