Ockley dokly fellow Zedders, I would like to propose a tour of the Lake District in May 2016 on the weeked of Saturday 7th May, kick off @ 10:00hrs. I'm flexible on which day and will put it to vote as it's a long way for most.
Planned route and proposed stops which I will run through to confirm times and feedback more exact times.
Start point - Lake land Motor Museum (www.lakelandmotormuseum.co.uk) LA12 8TA 20 minutes from J36 M6 (free parking)
Travel on the A590 > A5092 coming off onto the A5084 shadowing Coniston Water and back on ourselves on the A595 back on to the A5092 for a couple of clicks.
A5092 then off along Birker Moore to Eskdale. Proper Top Gear road.
Stop for a coke and natter at the Woolpack Inn (www.woolpack.co.uk)
Continue onwards on the twisty stuff over Hard Knott Pass & Wyrnose Pass (good challenging roads)
A593 > A592 up the Kirkstone Pass stopping at the Kirkstone Pass Inn for a drink/natter/photo's (www.kirkstonepassinn.com)
Continue on the A592 along the length of Ulswater and finishing at Pooley Bridge, nice little riverside village
J40 M6/A66 is less than 15 minutes from Pooley Bridge for your drive home North/South or A66 East/West.
Happy to jiggle the date a bit but I can't leave it much later in May due to possible work commitments. Bank Holiday weekend is a bad idea due to the mass influx of tourists.
As it's such a long way for some/most I have the full authorisation from the C-in-C to put up 4 Zedders (double sofa bed in the dining room and double blow up bed in the lounge). Just bring beer! First come first served, PM me.
Oh, we will have an interloper in his 3.0 S2 Guards Red 944. Dave is a local chap and all round top guy and knows this place like the back of his hand and can provide loads of local historic information and points of interest along the way.
The drive less natter and stops will be at least 4 hours long and right through the heart of the Lakes and on the best twisty and scenic roads to make it worth your while as it's such a long drive for most. With that in mind have a good breakfast and bring snacks as the Woolpack Inn is small (ish) and the Kirkstone Inn is small and it's unlikely to be able to cater for large numbers without pre-booking (large means 6 for the Kirkstone Inn). They do both have outside areas to sit/eat/drink if it's not raining! Once I have numbers I'll check to see if it's feasible to sit and eat at one or the other. Failing that the Delemain has a full on café at the end of the route.
Any feedback/suggestions/preferances/info most welcome.
Can anybody coming from the South please bring "Sun"
There are Premier Inn's in both Kendal and Penrith (near to start and finish points) and loads of B&B's/ Hotels for those wishing to make a weekend of it.

Update peeps,
I've spoken to the chap at the Lakeland Motor Museum who has set aside the coach park for our start point. On arrival drive past the car park on your left (museum on right) and drive to the end where we will meet up. The Café opens at 10 am so if you need a comfort break that's the time to go. First group led by me as near to 10 am as possible. Second group led by Dave (Porsche 944 3.0 S2) 10/15 mins later. First stop and food stop at the Woolpack Inn. We have a dedicated car park. You can order on the day but pre orders will speed things up. Final stop will now not be the Delemain Estate as 1, it's closed on Saturdays and 2. Pooley Bridge now has a Bridge so we will stop there. Two big car parks immediately either side of the Bridge, whichever has most space. Pay and display £2 for 4 hours. We can go into the Crown Inn which has large gardens for drinks if you wish. We are also at the North end of Ulswater which has a nice walk if you wish. I have detailed instructions for the day which I will give out on the day (sorry, IT muppet ). Final checks;
Bring sun
Make sure your handbrake is working VERY well
See you all soon.
