Hi y'all,

I found a little gem. My 1996 Z3 is a Japanese import, left-hand drive, with only 58k km. (58 Mm?) It strikes me as amusing that this little car was built in Germany, shipped to Japan, and then imported to Canada, where I met it and fell in love.

I hope to learn all about the quirks, pitfalls, challenges and delights of Z roadster ownership, and anyone who knows if there are any specific issues with Japanese-origin Zs is invited to share.

Hope this forum helps me and my new Z get along together for a long time.

Edit: Built in SC, then to Japan, then back to Eastern Canada. Depending on which way it went either time, it may have been all the way around the world! Even better :)

Hi, welcome from Mansfield - UK.
Great looking car.

From what I’ve heard from people who have bought imports from Japan is that the cars have low mileage as they have usually been stuck in lots of traffic, so have still had a fair amount of use but low mileage. My recommendation would be to check the coolant system - pump and pipes. Also due to the heat & humidity check all other hoses and rubbers underneath the car.
