The Italian Job (or) Views from a hire car

If you're going to Siena I can highly recommend a visit to San Gimignano, if you head pretty much due west out of Siena it will take you thru a forested area with some beautiful roads.
Fabulous area, enjoy

Just looked it up the road is the SP101

That looks great Niall. You and Ali will have a blast. Enjoy!

We’ve done that route it’s lovely we went in May 12 years ago to a wedding in Volterra which is a little further west.the Jasmine was in bloom and the smells were beautiful and how green Italy was at that time.We we’re so lucky to have a hotel room overlooking some beautiful rolling country and out of our window in the morning the mist was full of the valleys stunning..the best morning sex we have ever had which was a bonus;)

Will the motorway bridge that collapsed in Genoa be repaired by June? The satnav had me driving round in circles on the detour until I switched it off in frustration and trusted my instincts. We got out eventually. :banghead:

Bit of a change of plan! As quite a few people have said Pisa is not that great (and its only worth a day visit) I've changed the second part of the hols to Siena, looks great to be honest.

The route down and back avoids it, doubt it will be open for a while

Bonus the Palio di Provenzano (1st race of the Palio di Siena) is on the 2nd of July :)
