Spotted this on the Z4 forum, it really got my back up!

"Anyone seen this? some pretty serious implications are hinted at here. clarity is needed because the way I read it is if you happen to be passing and your Z has a stubby you could end up on the system and have an illegal mod.

extreme case or an over reaction from me... maybe. but the wording is pretty aggressive,

don't get me wrong illegal street racing is stupid and needs to be stopped"

Those people should have the book thrown at them.
Why should the public put up with it when we get a heavy fine for driving 5 clicks over the speed limit?

Not for us. It's more the hooligans racing each other in built up areas.

not necessarily, if we get spotted on a "cruise" the word cruise is mentioned a few times then it would appear they will stop everyone and go over your car with a magnifying glass, that's how it reads to me.

It's exactly how it reads, Your also suppose to notify the police if your having a gathering of more than 3 cars @pgunter did this a few years back, the response was as if we were wasting their time with our call. The officer writing that post is clearly a jobs worth nonce!

There was a thread on this subject a while back and someone spoke with the Police and they said this kind of drive out is not a problem.

Edit: Lee beat me to it.

Ok folks.. Spent many a moment working with the boys in blue... Things to do...

1. Plan the route...
2. Avoid built up residential areas if possible
3. Do not use the word 'cruise' in any of your thread regarding the day..
4. Words to use are ' A gathering of like minded car owners' ' A tour with classic sports cars' ' A drive to a cafe with country lanes as the route'
5. The Road Traffic Regulations were amended by some West Midlands Police forces to stop drag strip racing through city centres at night. ( As if we would ) you are required to notify the relevant police forces that you are likely to drive through. This I did for the South Downs run. Surrey Police responded Nice enjoy the day. Hampshire Police, what you telling us for, just drive sensibly and enjoy the day.. And hope the weather is nice. West Sussex.. Police Inspector thanks for letting us in on your activity, enjoy and try not to cause any traffic issues.. The only negative was a Police Community Support who read the email the Inspector wrote and asked loads of stupid questions.. Car numbers, registration numbers.. I just referred him to the Inspector. We had a lovely day and no issues from any of the forces areas we drove through. I expect that if we had be pulled over by some jobs worth I could actually say.. Well I did inform all relevant parties. It only takes a few minutes. This is for 3 or more cars.. So be careful when planning a larger gathering. I would expect that up to 10 well behaved would get away with it, more than that might be an issue if you got the wrong a Police officer.

In view of these comments Please Note that North Wales Police have said this week they are going to be speed and general drive monitoring the EVO route after some locals have been trying to get the road closed to motor clubs and the like. This has come about following a fatal head on incident between a Cleo and Merc.

Quote from local press
"During the week officers will also be patrolling and monitoring speeds on the route known as the ‘EVO Triangle’ in Denbighshire – an area of concern to may local residents.
Chief Insp Wareing added: “We are fully aware of the concerns surrounding the EVO triangle route and have met with local residents to address their concerns."

I just hope NWP do not get into the ways they had under our previous Chief Constable, and try to stop people coming up into North Wales.

Well @abh29 Seems that the minority are killing all the fun for the majority. As always though, be respectful to other road users.
