I had my car up on jacks stands just to see if I could loosen the fill bolts for the differential and trans , well I had about a foot long breaker bar atttached to the socket and still couldn't break loose the fill bolt , of course I sprayed it with some WD-40 first , do I need a longer breaker bar or any other ideas ? I already have the oil I need to change it out but I just can't get the fill holes loose , I imagine the drain bolts are the same

I bent a socket bar trying to loosen the G/box level plug on @Antm72 car some weeks ago, the Diff. level plug I managed with a long breaker bar. Ant used his socket bar on the G/box level plug eventually and it came loose, if you can get the car high enough you can use a long breaker bar on the G/box plug.. These are "stupid" tight if they've never been out.

Tony.

ps. By a long breaker bar I mean at least 24" long and 1/2" drive.

Sounds like I've been lucky, all came off pretty easily on my 2.0 when I changed the fluids the other day. Hopefully the same will happen at the weekend when I do the 2.8. For the gearbox I used a bar normally used for wheel bolts and a spanner, diff came loose with just a big allen key. Try a longer breaker bar.

I'd just add to Tony's suggestion to use an impact socket as regular sockets have been known to break!! Carry on and good luck! JIM

It took some force to move mine as @t-tony said in the end it was a t bar and alot of pressure from my foot as the arms couldn't generate enough force.
It gave way even if we did 45° bend a t bar in the process
