well had only half hour spare today and had a quick look under car... sills rotten front corners

dam.. might do a repair just for mot. then later do a full replacement

i think my mot to do list is going to be expensive :(

The outer sills are usually what rust each end as they are a bit of a mud trap. However, they are cosmetic only and don’t contribute to the structural strength. This is provided by the inner sills, which are like girders. That said, a slight caveat - if left too long the jacking points can corrode. Best unbolt the outer sill and have a look at everything.

You do mean the inner sills, not just outer sill covers?
