Took mine off, could not clean the boot lid properly.....

I do prefer the black coloured one better than chrome @HT is it painted or powder coat or ?? And, your TV would be facing the wrong direction if mounted on a car so you could watch it in the rearview mirror. Small generator in the boot and away you go!! JIM
Don't know to be honest but what ever it is, the finish is robust, as you have to lock on the suit case (metal parts involved) and they never leave a mark.
Guess it depends if you accelerate faster than you brake?
