After @Grumpy showed me on Reggie how the door mirrors are supposed to swivel, I decided that as our Zed is going in for a full re-spray soon I'd have a go with ours. Not while we were out on the run yesterday:eek: but today in a more controlled environment:). I'm well aware of the issues and as I have never moved mine in just over 4 years of ownership I was expecting the worst:sorry:. I didn't realise they lift very slightly before turning, so I gently put some pressure on one side of the mirror just enough to be able to spray some magic fluid into the inner workings then pushed harder. Both mirrors turned back on themselves with no problem.
So :thankyou:Dave for allowing me to play with Reggies mirrors:p.

ps I will never post any picture of him as dirty again.

Dave, the pleasure was all mine! I'm pleased yours are working freely. I've never felt the need to use mine but it is nice to know they work as they should. I will let you off with the "dirty photo" as you've named a thread after me and I'm so touched! :D

I also thank you @Grumpy as I have the base and most of the replacement parts for my mirror soaking in vinegar as I write this to free them up. I'll try the little lift trick after I'm done today. You'd be amazed at the crap coming out of the parts, no wonder they wouldn't turn. JIM

I know thats why it's great to know about the lift! And the last one I soaked like this the spring retainer fired off in our house never to be found. This is only one piece my friend Ashbandicoot gave me so I want to be very carefull! JIM
