I am Michael from Denmark. Bought my Z3 1.9 1996 this summer. Loving it.

My wife thought I had totally lost it when I bougth the car, but when I was on a business trip to Indonesia, she was caught redhanded as a friend of her's put a picture on Facebook of my wife in MY CAR!

Damn it! Waterpump broke while driving in north Germany. Repair shop needs spareparts from 4 hours away, then an hour to repair and I have 600km to drive home.

Ghanas for yout Rentals. Merchandising drove 4 hours (2 each way), changed it in 1 hour. Set me back by €195 incl. Free coffee. Would have been double up home in Denmark.

1996 was a good year and the 1.9 is M44Massive here!
For the water pump you will read enough on the forum, but you have to understand that the water pump broked in the best place: nowhere in the world you could fix it in 5 hours and 195 EUR!
