Owned my Zed for 2 weeks today, so a little update -

Named her Ace

Full service, brake fluid, diff fluid, 4 new springs and diff bush last week.

This week it's time to start the temporary repairs to the sill ends, with a view to hopefully replacing them one Winter.

Inner liner off and remove all the crud - I would recommend this to anyone, even if your sills are good, cause this is where the rot starts.

Good clean out and rub down/grind away as much rust as possible.

Coating of Kurust for good measure

Then a few coats of Hammerite - (only doing it this way as its black) and some under seal below.

That'll do meantime - interesting to see how long it lasts - better than bubbling paint at the sill ends.

Good work @Redsheep. Nice idea to use the hammerite as a temporary measure. Should hold out for a good while i reckon.

New boots all round...old ones were fine, but noticed they were all dated 2005, so time for a change.

Detailing time now.

Detailing finished....boy was that paint hard!

Got rid of all the swirl marks, but some pretty deep scratches that won't shift.....or at least I won't try to shift.

Looks good and soooo smooth.

Look forward to next weekend at the Scottish meet.

Must admit....I'm holding on for dear life at anything over 60mph at the moment, so I really hope this sorts it out.
