I am now testing the water to find out how many folk would be interested in doing a Euro Trip to the Alps and comming back through Munich and via the Nurburgring.
The Months will be either June, July or September 2016
My Initial thoughts are meet up at Folkstone to catch the chunnel on a Saturday and stop over around either Reims or Epinal.
Sunday stop over at Mulhouse and visit the Schlumpf Museum after taking in the Grand Ballon
Monday drive the Sustenpasse and if time permits visit Grindlewald to see the Eiger, driving back through the Grimselpasse and staying around Oberwald.
Tuesday drive down the Furkapasse and the Nufennenpasse through Andermatt upto Chur and down the Julierpasse to around Forcola here is a good base to visit lots of the other passes including visiting Livigno and St Moritz. I would suggest around a 3 day stay so that we can have 2 days out exploring the passes and villages.
Friday Drive to Munich and stay over for 2 nights to give us a day to sight see
Sunday Drive to the Nurburgring staying 2 nights close by so we can visit the track on the Monday
Monday Do the Nurburgring and sight seeing
Tuesday drive to Dunkirk and spend 1 or 2 nights for sight seeing
Thursday Drive Home
This is only a rough thought and we can extend it so we drive back on Saturday
This is totally up for changes depending what folk think.
All i want to know is who is up for it and what there input is, bearing in mind we wont be able to do everything that everyone wants.

Another option is to Drive down to the Pyrenees and go from west to east weaving in and out of France and Spain and head into Andorra before visiting places on route through France back home such as the Millau Bridge

I have read and digested the information provided. At this point the alps, Munich trip definitely floats my boat and Jue smiled as well when I read it out to her. This would be largely dependant on costs. We will be going to Dubai in the March to visit friends so we'd have to make sure we could afford both. Being a poor lorry driver it would take some serious saving but would definitely be worth it. Input wise I can't really add to the thoughts you've suggested. Having never driven further than into France I would have to put my faith in your knowledge :nailbiting::arghh:. Be fantastic to get some heads for this. Come on folks get brave and let's have one hell of road trip! September would be the favoured choice for us mate. :thankyou::party:

Dave you can get a prepaid Travel Money Mastercard from Ukash and just put money on when you want, it loads it with the best euro rate of the day. It is a free card that doesn't charge you when used in the Euro zone and you can even pull out upto £250 per day from the cash machines and it also does not charge you. That is what me and Maurice have done this year. We have loaded it to cover the Hotel and fuel costs so all we need to do is take spending money. It is costing us this year £589 for 10 nights in Hotels and we are aiming for the fuel to come in around £700. But bear in mind we will be doing a lot more miles as we are driving down to Benidorm area. A lot will depend on the costs of the Hotels.

This sounds super and I would welcome the opportunity to join the company - provisional at this time. I would be guided by the experts re: route and hotels.

What would make it even more fantastic would be to come back via Manheim and pick up the Rhine upto Koblenz and then down the Moselle Valley This would then take in 2 of the most beautiful rivers in Europe

Interesting thread, I will keep an eye on it as I hope to travel many of these areas myself starting off on Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th July. My plan is to get to Crans-Sur-Sierre, Switzerland on the evening of the 22nd staying a few days for The Omega European Masters (golf).

I'm open to getting there by any of the ferries or Chunnel routes and as yet have not booked a crossing. If any part of your trip overlaps (time and place wise), would love to get together somewhere with whoever makes it.

Sure, send them over whenever?? JIM
I think the authorities might not be keen on me sending the dog! The boy just needs LOADS of food and access to a fast wifi connection and you wouldn't know he was there. lol

There's so much to do around here he wouldn't need wifi! My relatives have cabins at the lake not far from here with all those teen girls out of school for the summer he'd be too busy!! The dog depends on the regs regarding shots, etc. JIM
