Burn and probably fall apart even faster . I doubt its true since its coming from the ChiComms , if it is , its probably stolen technology , thats what they are known for .

Yikes, the thought of the energy involved to charge an EV in 5 mins is a little scary.

Personally, it's improved range that would make me more interested in an EV rather than faster charge times. I just looked and the 'Long Range' version of the Polestar only just breaks 400miles - presumably in laboratory conditions, with no passengers or luggage, on a downhill and with a tailwind . I could smash that in my F11 driving like a lunatic, full of passengers, luggage, roof-rack and towing a caravan.

Even if it only took 2 minutes to charge, you're still planning your route around where chargers are, whether they're the right type of chargers, whether they work or have been vandalised, whether there is already a 20-car deep queue, or whether someone's car finished charging 20 mins ago but they've gone into the services to do their weekly shop or take a massive dump.

I'd not willingly buy an EV right now, but if someone held a gun to my head, I'd pick the one with the longest range, not the fastest charge

There is a consensus on other car forums that I frequent (where many have full EVs purely due to the tax breaks as company cars) that EVs are good if you can charge from home (or work), as the public charging system is an absolute rip-off....and if you only do fairly short journeys, due to the 'range anxiety' issue.

It's quite comical the amount of people who have pure EVs (for the tax breaks) but also have an ICE car for their longer journeys. Surely this is where hybrids come in?

My neighbour has a Tesla thing (don't know what model as they all just look like a blob to me) And a Ferrari F430. Now that is taking the above to the extreme!

I tried to do the maths with charging an EV in 5 minutes, but according to my calculations you would crash the National Grid on just one, so I gave up!

The Chinese (and Koreans) do come up with some strange names for their products. BYD stands for "Build Your Dreams". Not the most evocative name for a car company. I still laugh at the electronics giant LG. Stands for "Lucky Goldstar".
Apparently they started to name their stuff after their founders/ CEOs (like Ford, etc), but the Western world still sniggers at companies called "Wang" and "Dong", apparently.

I can tell you something about tesla the model y and 3 appear to use the same underpinnings so same brakes etc well the fronts are brembo and you cant seem to get them bar the dealership and the pads are 270 quid discs pair over 400 ouch !
Had a customer tell me his model 3 front wheel bearing failed and it was a whole front hub and carrier at over a grand .
Other brands that make various ice and ev and hybrid like MG you cant get bits practically everything dealership couldn't get a nearside rear caliper for a 2018 mg zs had to order from dealership waited 9 days to get it.

This is the future of ev and Chinese imports cars that are either a fortune for parts or you cant get them.

Nothing special about Tesla brake discs or pads. Many owners due to one peddle driving find they don't need touching until over 100K

Anyway heres a set of pads and discs all round for £227 any garage can fit them.

This car has 8k and failed on excessive warped discs due to condition of them couldn't get the brakes for it through dingbro, euro car parts or tms all said dealer only so maybe different from the ones you posted as says not for sports package.
The ones we got from Tesla were genuine Brembo pads and discs.
See corrosion to Tesla brakes all the time due to one pedal drive the brake on them do not wear well up here in Scotland .

But then again cars in general dont wear well here.
