Hi all, next year I'm looking to take my Z3 on the track. Not as a pure track car but it is a summer only/for fun car. I'm wondering what mods are recommended handling wise to improve its performance. Obviously tyres are the easy one and I will be putting some good ones on.

My feeling is the rear is a bit too soft and means the front gives up too early. Has anyone else had this experience? I am aware that the lack of a proper roof does make the chassis a bit floppy, and so conscious that any suspension changes might not have as much of an effect. My initial thought is a rear ARB upgrade, to keep the rear from falling over but not sure if it will be too much. Any ideas/experience welcome 👍 thanks!

For reference I have a 2002 2.2i Sport 👌

As stock the Z3 was designed with understeer, it stopped people losing the rear and putting it in the bushes. There plenty of people who track their zeds so you should get some great tips soon.

If it’s still on original (from new) suspension, and many are, I would be inclined to treat it to new dampers all round, or at least the rear if you feel it is too soft. A set of lowering springs and some wheel spacers would be my choices.

Tony.
