just had a stainless tail pipe tip welded on my Z3 I’ve been meaning to get this done since having done the cars body work and respray to finish the look off. The person who had the car before me had put an after market tail box and pipe on which ended just before the rear bumper.
I’ve noticed since I’ve had it sorted the car inside sounds much quieter and has a better sound all together. I can only think it was so noisy before because it finished short and the sound from exhaust was bouncing back from curve of rear bumper. I always thought it was due to the after market exhaust so for £35 it’s made a great difference plus I’ve noticed that the smell of fumes on start up are not there collecting under car for a small price I’m well chuffed.

Sounds like an excellent result for a few quid .
Any pics of the new look tips ?.
Like you said if the old ones finished short of the bumper, the sound would resonate through the car.

That looks like it finished under the passenger seat! No wonder it was noisy. Much better now.

Maybe the guy who fitted it hears that exhaust grow with heat (can be as much as an inch on race cars I found out today) so was compensating a bit (too much clearly!)

Nice tip you have now. Great colour
